Laser technology at Duncraig Dental Care…

Waterlase™

Duncraig Dental Care has recently purchased a Waterlase™ Dental Laser which is revolutionising the way many dental procedures are done.

Imagine having a dental treatment that is performed without the annoying high pitched dental drill. Now, with the Waterlase™ Dental Laser, you can! The Waterlase™ has no vibration, no heat and in fact most of the time, no direct contact with the tooth or soft tissues. During your treatment, all you should hear is a soft popping sound, a bit like a popcorn maker. This extremely gentle treatment has patients amazed with how easy their treatment has become.

Our dental laser is also used for many soft tissue procedures that previously may have required conventional surgery involving multiple visits and prolonged healing times. The Waterlase has pinpoint accuracy and gentle action which means less bleeding, less discomfort and faster healing times. With its precision and accuracy we can perform gum contouring, treat periodontal disease, perform small fillings and other treatments with ease.

We have an intraoral camera in every surgery…

At Duncraig Dental Care we have intraoral camera in every surgery to allow you to see what you dentist can see. An intraoral camera is a small video camera that takes an X-ray of the outside of the gum or tooth in your mouth. It will look like an oversized pen and is used to get a closer look into the hard to reach places in your mouth. While simultaneously viewing a monitor, we will also insert the camera into your mouth and gently shift it around so that images can be taken from a variety of angles. This piece of technology is particularly useful during restoration procedures and can take snap shots to provide you with before and after images of your mouth.

We use digital X-rays to assess your dental concerns…

With digital dental X-rays we can use pictures of the teeth, bones, and soft tissues around them to help find problems with the teeth, mouth, and jaw. X-ray pictures can show cavities, hidden dental structures (such as wisdom teeth), and bone loss that cannot be seen during a visual examination.

Digital X-rays use a small sensor unit which sends pictures to a computer to be recorded and saved. This way we can use the digital copy to show our patients how we can improve their teeth with digital technology.

Having top of the line technology that gives us more access to your mouth and the ability to complete your treatments faster and more effectively means we can provide the best treatment for you.
